On June 9, the FIDE World U8-18 Rapid and Blitz participants had a rest day.
Three interesting activities were held during the rest day.
1. The participants visited Batumi Botanical Garden, learned a lot of interesting things about it and got acquainted with Georgian culture.
Batumi Botanical Garden is characterized by specific and diverse physical-geographical conditions. Since 1998, the Batumi Botanical Garden has become a member of the International Plant Protection Council (BGCI) of the worlds botanical gardens.
2. Second World Championship in solving chess compositions.
The event was divided into 3 age categories among boys and girls under 10, 14 and 18 years. Each participant had 90 minutes. The participants solved 8 compositions (3 two-moves; 3 three-moves and 2 etudes).
3. International Blitz Tournament - Nesis Cup 2023.
The tournaments were held in 9 rounds according to the Swiss system. Time control: 3 minutes plus 2 seconds per move starting from the move In the event 32 chess players participated.
